The research activity is oriented towards goals that include modeling, design, characterization and production of chemical, physical, biological sensors; multi-sensory systems based on electrical, electro-optic, magneto-optic transducers for applications in the fields of food quality control, medical, environmental, cultural heritage, space, industrial and transportation. All researches are characterized by a multidisciplinary activity that includes physical skills, chemistry, engineering, computer science, biology. In particular, it ranges from innovative sensitive materials also through interaction with the Gdl7. Research activities based onto innovative transduction techniques lead to very competitive sensory performance. The main finality is the transfer of sensitive layers onto optimized MEMS or MOEMS devices for the realization of dedicated prototypes to specific applications, through direct cooperation with GdL4 and GdL6.
